In this pv magazine Webinar, we’ll hear from a well-known and BNEF Tier 1 solar module supplier Elite Solar, which has recently globally rebranded from the former name of ET Solar. The rebranding will be discussed, along with a detailed look at how Elite Solar is understanding the impacts of UFLPA & AD/CVD laws, and Elite’s action plan and risk mitigation processes, including insights into its manufacturing in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Since the US UFLPA entered into force in June 2022, United States Customs and Border Protection has stopped more than 4,000 shipments for review. The law broadly targets any material made wholly or in part in the Xinjiang province, which is then presumed to be made with forced labor and thus denied entry into the US.
The solar industry has responded to both the UFLPA and Antidumping (AD) and Countervailing Duty (CVD) laws in a number of ways, including sourcing outside of China, domestic manufacturing and supply chain sourcing changes, and developing new traceability and due diligence procedures to help ensure that solar products are not made with forced labor.
